Checking the status of your visa application and processing time
The Embassy must sometimes submit your visa application to the Immigration Office of the Federal Public Service Home Affairs for further decision. It is the only competent authority with regards to the admittance, stay, residence and removal of foreigners from Belgian territory.
When the file is submitted, the applicant gets a receipt with a 5 digits unique number. This number also allows you to check online the status of your file on the website of the Immigration Service.
